Best pix yet of 2009 CTS coupe

cadillac spyshot

Autoweek has obtained some of the clearest shots yet of Cadillac’s hot new coupe.  The coupe is a part of the CTS family, everything from the A-pillar forward is the same as the sedan, which is a good thing.  But as you can see, the real hotness begins from the A-pillar back with a real fastback profile that looks like a hatchback rear end but is actually a trunk.

It is pretty much unchanged from the concept, which looked fantastic.  While these shots look promising, they do make the car look a little weird.  The back end looks horrible.  Obviously the production tail lights are missing, and the bumper looks pretty bad.  The problem with spyshots is that bad paint, bad camera angles, poor lighting, and the fact that the cars are almost never showroom finished are all things that play tricks on your eyes.  Spyshots and final judgement do not go hand in hand.

Regardless, take a look at our gallery below of the concept version that debuted at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, and then check out Autoweek’s spy pix of what is sure to be one of next year’s best looking cars.
