Nissan’s New 370Z Makes 332HP
November 12, 2008

Nissan is set to unveil the 370Z in all its glory at the LA Auto Show next week but that doesn’t mean we have to wait until then to start taking in all the details. Whether this counts as a leak is up to debate, but the show’s web site has put up a little preview of the car and some technical details that are very interesting.
That the car makes 332 HP is great, but that is pretty much in line with what we expected. We’ve known that the engine is the same 3.7 liter V6 used in the recently revised Infiniti G35 Coupe, and it makes 330 horses in that car so this isn’t really a surprise. More of a surprise is the preview’s mention of a very slick sounding “world’s first synchronized downshift rev matching system” to complement the 6-speed manual box.
We’ll see all the details and dozens of media pics next week. Sounds like an extremely well done sports car but there should be one more trick up its sleeve that will be confirmed next week. Weight should be down significantly, as much as 200lbs!
